FAQ

What is the 74604-01A?

It is an AMP Research bedxtender universal mounting bracket kit for the compatible installation described above.

Is this the complete BedXTender?

No. This listing supplies mounting brackets and their installation hardware. The extender assembly is not included.

Does universal mean it fits any vehicle?

No. Check the compatible extender, bed-pillar surface and mounting geometry. A suitable mounting location is still required.

Is it the same as a quick-latch kit?

No. This is the standard mounting kit. Select a quick-latch version only when its removal method and mounting arrangement suit your installation.

What material are the brackets?

The manufacturer identifies steel plate with corrosion-resistant construction.

How should I determine drilling requirements?

Follow the instructions supplied with the actual bracket kit and your bed configuration. Do not assume a no-drill installation from a general product-family description.

Can I install it over a contoured bedliner?

The mounting surface must support the bracket correctly. Follow the installation instructions for any bedliner preparation rather than fastening across an unsupported contour.

What should I check after fitting it?

Confirm secure mounting, correct pivot engagement and clearance while the extender moves through its operating and removal positions.

Installation Instructions

1. Identify the existing extender, truck bed accessories and mounting position before disassembly.
2. Compare the supplied components with the manufacturers installation sheet and inspect the actual mounting surface.
3. Check the extenders travel and any bedliner, tonneau-cover or shell clearance before drilling or final assembly.
4. Install the components using the supplied instructions, required hardware and specified torque values.
5. Check engagement on both sides and secure operation through the complete range of movement.
