This Baer 2000057LP adjustable proportioning valve is machined to mount directly beneath a Remaster master cylinder, so rear brake pressure becomes adjustable without adding a separate bracket or a long run of line. The left port version matches a left port Remaster, and the rear circuit passes through the valve while the front circuit passes straight through to keep the plumbing short and tidy.

Key Features

  • The Remaster specific adjustable proportioning valve is machined to mount directly under the Remaster for a clean, compact unit.
  • The valve includes 4) brass seats and 4) 3/8 x 24 tube nuts.

Fitment

Frequently Asked Questions

What does an adjustable proportioning valve actually change?
It limits how much pressure reaches the rear brakes, which stops the rear tyres locking before the front when tyre sizes, brake hardware or vehicle weight differ from the original setup.

Does it control the front brakes as well?
No. The valve controls the rear circuit and provides a pass through for the front circuit so the plumbing stays simple.

How do I know whether to order left or right port?
Match the valve to the port side of the Remaster master cylinder already fitted or being purchased. A right port version is available for right port units.

Can it be used with banjo fittings?
Yes. Leave the brass seats out for straight banjo fittings, or install them for inverted flare fittings.

Installation Instructions

  1. Work on a cool vehicle, protect painted surfaces from brake fluid and relieve any residual line pressure.
  2. Decide whether inverted flare or banjo fittings will be used and install or remove the brass seats accordingly.
  3. Bolt the valve to the underside of the Remaster master cylinder using the machined mounting pattern.
  4. Connect the rear inlet from the master cylinder and the rear outlet toward the rear brakes.
  5. Run the front circuit through the pass through so the front brakes remain unrestricted.
  6. Fit the tube nuts and tighten every fitting only after all lines are started by hand.
  7. Bleed the complete system in the sequence given in the factory service information.
  8. Set the adjuster to a conservative starting point that reduces rear pressure.
  9. Test braking at low speed in a safe area and increase rear pressure in small steps until the balance is right.
  10. Recheck every fitting for weeping and confirm the fluid level after the first drive.
